Pick a PDF, choose a tool from the toolbar, and click on the page. To replace existing text, drag a box over it with Replace text, then type. Drag elements to move them, use the corner dot to resize, and press Delete or the ✕ to remove one.
Your PDF and edits stay in this browser's IndexedDB storage on this device until you press Start over. They never leave your device.
Questions about editing PDFs
What can I add to the PDF?
Text boxes in any size and color (for filling in forms), checkmarks and crosses (for ticking boxes), a signature that you draw with your mouse or finger or type in a handwriting style, semi-transparent highlights, and PNG or JPG images such as a logo or a scanned stamp. Everything you place can be moved by dragging, resized with the corner dot, and deleted again before you download.
Can I change text that is already in the PDF?
Not directly: a PDF stores printed letters, not editable text. To correct existing text here, choose Replace text, drag over the words, and type the replacement. The tool covers that area with white and writes new text into the downloaded copy. This works on ordinary white-background documents; changing a complex layout or a scanned background needs the original document or desktop PDF software.
Is my PDF uploaded when I edit it?
No. The file is opened and edited entirely in your browser using the pdf.js and pdf-lib libraries, and the edited copy is assembled on your device too. Nothing is sent to a server and there is no account — you can confirm this in your browser's network panel. So that an accidental refresh or closed tab doesn't lose your work, the file and your edits are kept in the browser's own storage on this device until you press Start over; they never leave your machine. Your original file on disk is never modified; the download is a new file ending in -edited.pdf.
How do I sign a PDF here?
Choose the Sign tool and click where the signature belongs. A window opens where you either draw your signature — with a finger on a touchscreen or with the mouse — or type your name and have it rendered in a handwriting style, in black or blue ink. The signature is placed as an image that you can drag into position and resize. This is a drawn signature for everyday paperwork, not a cryptographic digital signature.
