The details you type are the most personal thing here, and they stay in the tab

A signature is, by definition, a small dossier: your real name, your job title, your employer, a phone number that rings on a device you carry, a working email address, and occasionally a street address that in a lot of freelance cases is where you live. That is a more sensitive payload than most tools on this site handle, so it deserves a plain statement rather than a reassuring one.

None of it is transmitted. The form has no submit action and the script makes no network request of any kind — the entire signature is assembled by JavaScript running on your own machine and written into the preview element on the page. None of it is stored, either: there is no database on our side, and on your side nothing is written to cookies, local storage or session storage (the sole exception is your answer to the consent banner, covered further down). Nothing is pre-filled when you come back, because there is nothing to pre-fill from — reload the page and the sample values reappear exactly as they do for a first-time visitor.

You do not have to take this on trust. Open your browser's developer tools, select the Network panel, type your real details into every field and copy the result: no request leaves the page. Switch your machine to aeroplane mode after the page has finished loading and the generator still works normally.

The signature itself is clean

This matters as much as what happens on the page, and it is where signature generators most often disappoint. The HTML you copy contains no tracking pixel, no remote image, no beacon and no analytics parameter. There is nothing in it that makes a request to any server when your recipient opens your message — so nobody, ourselves included, learns that your mail was read, when, or from where.

Neither is there a credit line, a referral link or a hidden attribution pointing back at this site. Plenty of free generators embed one, or host your logo on their own domain so that every mail you send quietly pings their server. This one does not, and it cannot: it produces text and colour values only. The single case in which the output links anywhere at all is when you personally fill in the website, email or LinkedIn fields, and then it links to the addresses you supplied.

What the server sees

Serving this page requires a web server, and the hosting provider records what any web server records when a file is requested: the requesting IP address, which file was asked for, the timestamp, the user-agent string your browser sends, and the referring page if there is one. Those access logs exist for security and for a rough idea of traffic volume, are retained by the host for a short window, and are not connected to any individual. They are generated by fetching the page and are entirely unrelated to anything you type into the form afterwards.

Cookies and analytics

The site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics script — there is no page-view counter, no heatmap, no session recorder, no tag manager. One value is kept in your browser's local storage: whether you accepted or declined the cookie banner, so the banner does not reappear on every visit. Clearing your site data removes it and you will simply be asked once more.

Advertising (planned)

Hosting is not free, and the intention is to fund it with advertising, most likely Google AdSense. Once that is live, ad content will be served from the network's own servers, and that network may set cookies or use comparable identifiers in your browser to measure ad performance and — subject to your region and your consent choice — to personalise what you are shown. Third-party vendors including Google use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Personalised advertising from Google can be switched off at Google Ads Settings, and other vendors can be managed at aboutads.info/choices. Where the law requires it — for example under the GDPR or the ePrivacy rules in the EEA and the UK — a consent banner will ask before any non-essential cookie is set. This section will be rewritten with the specifics on the day ads actually appear.

Advertising will not alter the two sections above. An ad occupies a reserved box in the page layout; it has no access to the contents of the form, and the signature you copy will still contain no third-party markup of any kind.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly gather personal information from them.

Your rights

Data-protection law gives you the right to see, correct, export or erase personal data held about you. In practice we hold none beyond the short-lived hosting logs described above, so in almost every case there is nothing to produce or delete. If you think that is wrong, or you want to ask about the logs, get in touch and you will have an answer within 30 days.

Changes

Any material change to this policy — advertising going live being the obvious one — will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after such a change means you accept the updated version.
