If a code will not decode

Almost every failed decode comes down to how the image was produced, so that is the first thing to tell me:

If the code holds something you would rather not share — a ticket, a Wi-Fi password, anything with your name in it — please do not attach the picture. The four points above are usually enough to work out what went wrong, and if I do need a sample I can normally reproduce the conditions with a code of my own.

If a generated code is rejected

Say what the payload was (or its length and rough shape, if it is private), which error-correction level, size and quiet zone you chose, whether you downloaded the PNG or the SVG, and what the code was printed or displayed on. Include the scanner that refused it — some warehouse and till scanners are far fussier than a phone, particularly about the quiet zone.

Feature requests

Reasonable candidates: more output sizes, a numeric mode for digit-only payloads, and structured builders for Wi-Fi and vCard entries. Off the table: dynamic or editable codes, and anything else that would put a server between your code and its destination — the about page explains why. Camera scanning is also unlikely, for the reasons set out there.

Business

Advertising and partnership enquiries go to the same address; put "advertising" in the subject so it does not get lost among the bug reports.
